Because Monday, Oct. 10 is a holiday, the Monday group will start one week earlier, on October 3rd, at Ellenvale Jr High, 6-7pm. All remaining Monday sessions will be held at Ian Forsyth School, 6-7pm.

Dartmouth JUNIOR LAKERS
The Dartmouth Lakers Basketball Club is pleased to be launching a Junior Lakers Youth Basketball program for children in grades P – 2.
Junior Lakers is an eight-week program where young participants are taught the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, active, non-competitive environment.
- Fall session will begin the week of October 11th and run through to Dec. 2nd.
- Winter session will begin January 9th and run until the end of February.
Each group will meet ONE night per week from 6-7 pm. Sessions will be held in various Dartmouth elementary school gyms.
PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to place each child with the group that will best suit his/her development, we have allocated specific nights for the various levels of experience. Please consider carefully when choosing which night best suits your child’s abilities. Each group will be capped at 15 participants.
BEGINNER: NO previous experience. This child is new to the sport of basketball regardless of grade.
INTERMEDIATE: Some previous experience. This child may or may not have previous experience in organized basketball, but should have a basic grasp of the fundamental skills of dribbling and passing.
ADVANCED: More previous experience. This child has participated in at least one year of organized basketball and has a solid grasp in performing the basic skills. He/she should be able to dribble and pass comfortably.

Dartmouth Lakers Basketball Club
Thank you for your interest in minor basketball in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We offer basketball programs for youth ages 5 though to 18 for residents in the Dartmouth area. We play league games as a member of the Metro Basketball Association and are also a member of Basketball Nova Scotia.
The Dartmouth Lakers Basketball Club is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization whose aim is to promote the development of youth basketball while fostering an environment of sportsmanship among players, coaches, spectators and officials; to create opportunities for amateur basketball players of all skill levels so they may engage in challenging competition while developing their own physical and fundamental basketball skills; and to teach life skills through basketball.

WHEN DOES BASKETBALL SEASON START?
We play games within the Metro Basketball Association. Dates can be found on their website.
WHEN WILL MY PRACTICE BE ?
We do not know practice times until team selection is complete. Please check the Schedules page.
WHAT IS THE LATE REGISTRATION FEE?
After September 24th, there will be a $20 Late fee added to your registration fee.
IS THERE FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR PLAYERS?
Yes, we work with KidsSport to help families who need assistance registering a player. There is more information on the KidsSport Site.

U10 – Age 8 & 9 (under the age of 10 on or before Dec 31st of the current season
U12 – Age 10 & 11 (under 12 on or before Dec 31st of the current season)
U14 – Age 12 & 13 (under 14 on or before Oct.1 of the current season)
U16 – Age 14 & 15 (under 16 on or before Oct.1 of the current season)
